Business Strategy & Complex System Claim Experts

History

The first Leo A. Wrobel company was founded in 1986 and was the first in the U.S. to pioneer carrier collocation by locating a computer disaster recovery center in a telephone central office. (View a short but very nostalgic 1986 video about that achievement here) That same company went on in 1997 to become the first CLEC to be certified in all 50 states, even before AT&T and Verizon. A successor company, TelLAWCom Labs, was founded in 2004 after many years of successfully pursuing claims against large incumbent phone companies for errors, omissions and non performance that affected our own 50-state phone company. At that time we realized other organizations were experiencing the same kinds of issues and were responding by hiring law firms. The best of those law firms and companies soon realized that large incumbent monopolies had a clear advantage in negotiations unless they found the very best legal and technical talent. The rest is history. Within three years we had assisted over 50 companies in collecting tens of millions of dollars in billing refunds and contractual damages. Our practice now includes over 100 clients including well-known companies and various law firms - not counting the hundreds of clients in our 35 year old disaster recovery practice.

Why Retain Us?

We exist because a law firm is not always enough. The best law firms know that the “right” Expert can greatly improve your chances for a successful financial recovery. Whether the issue is buried facility disruptions, major billing disputes, professional negligence, or other complex technology claims, we translate techno-speak into plain English, allowing for compelling presentation of your claim to a judge, mediator or jury.

Leo A. Wrobel

For 35 years Leo’s talent for exploiting changes technology, law, risk management and regulation have earned him broad acclaim. In 1986 he built the first Computer Disaster Recovery Center inside a telephone office. In 1987 he was the first in Dallas Texas to run telephone traffic over the cable television system. He brokered a Master Services Agreement in 1995 between the largest employer in North Texas (Texas Instruments) and involving the two largest incumbent telephone companies (Southwestern Bell and GTE). His effort included lobbying Texas Public Utility Commissioners and various congressmen to create what was at that time the largest capacity network to an end user in Texas. Later that same year, he leveraged a 1995 Texas law to secure “unbundled” telecommunications pricing for his $70 Billion diversified financial services client. This was the first time in the USA an end user received unbundled pricing, a full year before the Federal Telecommunications Act of 1996 was passed! In 1997 Leo founded a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) that became the first to be certified in all 50 U.S. states. Leo signed up a number of marquis customers for the CLEC in the Airline, Finance, Services, Education and Government Markets before returning to private practice and the Leo A. Wrobel Companies in 2004. Mr. Wrobel has been a guest speaker in most of the 50 states and Canada as well as in Tel Aviv Israel, Santiago Chile, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing. He has appeared on television news programs. Today, the Leo A. Wrobel Companies include TelLAWCom Labs Inc., FailSafe Communications Inc., and the Network and Systems Professionals Association.
